We Must Labor for Time and Eternity

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White

We Must Labor for Time and Eternity
Today's Text:
He smote the Egyptians, and delivered our houses. Exodus 12:27
The Message:

Eternal interests are at stake with every one of us. We shall all be tried and tempted. Many act as though there were no devil, no tempter, no conflict between good and evil. Unless you realize that you have something to contend against, your feet will slip from under you. Someone will come to our churches with a message, and you will be unable to discern light from darkness, and will be just as likely to accept the darkness as the light.

"Remember therefore how thou hast received and heard, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee" (Revelation 3:3).

Many are bringing themselves into close affinity to the world. Many have not heeded the light that has called us to place our children under the best influences, where they will hear the truth. Many have not heeded the instruction of the Lord to take their children from the public schools and place them in schools where they can learn the truths of the Word of God, line upon line, and precept upon precept. Their education should be made preparatory to the education that is to be continued in the higher school above.

When the judgments of God were about to fall upon the land of Egypt, Christ gave instructions through Moses that the children of Israel were to call their children in and keep them under their own roof. If any should be found in the houses of the Egyptians, they would not escape the plagues. Keep your children close to you and, so far as possible, away from worldly and evil influences. The Lord wants you to prepare your children for the future, immortal life. Unless we are more careful, our children will imbibe the same spirit of unbelief that was revealed among the Israelites of old, by reason of which God could not bring them into the Promised Land.

Let us put on the whole armor of God and act like people who are waiting for their Lord to come in the clouds of heaven. When you do this, souls will be converted. Your ministers will not labor month after month and bring no one into the truth. We are to hunt and fish for souls. Sometimes you will catch fish and sometimes you will not, but we are to persevere in the work of God, knowing that He has given us a message to unbelievers, a message that will win its way to many hearts.-Manuscript 161, 1904.
Commentary:

My friend, God set His people in the world not that we can become like them, but that we may be a peculiar people, distinct from the world that they may see the difference between themselves and inquire as to what makes us different.  Then we can witness to the greatness of God and share with them the gospel of Jesus Christ.

But today the church has to a large degree conformed to the world and we are hardly distinguishable from the other denominations.  It is because of our close affinity with the world that we are no longer a peculiar and distinct group of people.

God has committed to us the oracles of truth which represents the greatest amount of light that the world has ever seen.  We have the duty of proclaiming the last message of hope to a dark and dying world, the three angels message.  The reason why this message has not gone to the world with the power that is promised is because we have not heeded the message ourselves.  The message is to prepare the world for the second coming of Christ, but before it can go to the world with the power of God, we must be sanctified by it.

The first angels message is a call back to worship God as the Creator, and for most of the people in the Seventh-day Adventist Church this means worshiping God on the seventh-day, but the message goes deeper than the day of worship, it calls us to worship the God of the Bible rather than the god of the Christian world worships.  Satan has deceived the whole of the Christian world to worship the trinity god, the three in one god, and as such has lead them to worship an altogether different god from the One true God of the Bible.

In John 17:3 in Jesus' prayer right before He was to be lead away to the cross prayed to His Father saying "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."  The One true God of the Bible is the Father and He has given to us His Son that we may be forgiven of our sins and cleansed from all unrighteousness.  Unless we are thus forgiven and cleansed we cannot give the last message of hope to the world.  Unless we have come back to worship the One true God we cannot be filled with the power that is needed to prepare the world to meet Jesus in the clouds of glory.

My friend, the church has conformed so much to the world that it no longer reflects the image of God; it is no longer a peculiar treasure prepared to bring the last message of hope to the world, but this does not need to be the case with you and I.  We can be part of the remnant of God, the 144,000 that are sanctified and empowered with His Spirit and bring this precious message to the world.

The question that you need to ask yourself today is will you separate yourself from the world and surrender yourself to the One true God of the Bible?  How you answer that question will determine your eternal destiny.

God bless,

In this second video we look at some of the clearest statements concerning the one God of the Bible and some common misunderstandings that people use to "prove" a trinity.

The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended Today's Text: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4 The Message:      The wicked receive their recompense in the earth. [Proverbs 11:31] . They "shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts."  Malachi 4:1 . Some are destroyed as in a moment, while others suffer many days. All are punished "according to their deeds." The sins of the righteous having been transferred to Satan, he is made to suffer not only for his own rebellion, but for all the sins that he has caused God's people to commit...

The Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study Today's Text: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4 The Message:      There is need of a much closer study of the Word of God; especially should Daniel and the Revelation have attention as never before in the history of our work. We may have less to say in some lines, in regard to the Roman power and the papacy, but we should call attention to what the prophets and apostles have written under the inspiration of the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit has so shaped matters, both in the giving of the prophecy and in the events portrayed, as to teach that the human agent is to be kept out of sight, hid in Christ, and the Lord God of heaven ...

Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door Today's Text: But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:9 The Message:      The stress of great temptation is already upon us. We are now to unite with one another in doing medical missionary work, even the work that Christ did when on this earth. We are to be one in Christ. Thus we show our faithfulness to God, to our Redeemer, and to all who are born into His kingdom.  Among the people of God there is to be no dissension, no controversy, no warfare against one another. The forces of righteousness are to be a unit in their conflict with evil. All the strength of God's...
