Today's Text:
Then was the secret revealed unto Daniel in a night vision. Then Daniel blessed the God of heaven. Daniel 2:19

The Message:
Daniel sought the Lord when the decree went forth to slay all the wise men of the kingdom of Babylon because they could not relate or interpret a dream that had gone from the king's mind. He demanded not only the interpretation of the dream, but the relation of the dream itself....
The magicians were full of fear and trembling. They declared that the request of the king was something unreasonable, and a test beyond that which had ever been required of anyone. The king became furious and acted like all persons who have great power and uncontrollable passions. He decided that every one of them should be put to death, and as Daniel and his fellows were numbered with the wise men, they also were to share their fate.... Daniel came before the king and pleaded for time to bring this matter before the supreme court of the universe, from whose decision there could be no appeal. When his request was granted, Daniel laid the whole matter before his companions who were united with him in worshiping the true God. The matter was carefully considered, and on their bended knees, they pleaded that God would give them the power and wisdom that alone would avail them in their great necessity.... With contrition of heart they submitted their case to the great Judge of the earth. It was all that they could do.... Daniel prayed, "I thank thee, and praise thee, O thou God of my fathers, who hast given me wisdom and might, and hast made known unto me now what we desired of thee: for thou hast now made known unto us the king's matter."... Daniel was imbued with the Spirit of Jesus Christ, and he pleaded that the wise men of Babylon should not be destroyed. The followers of Christ do not possess the attributes of Satan, which make it a pleasure to grieve and afflict the creatures of God. They have the spirit of their Master, who said, I am "come to seek and to save that which was lost."... "Then Arioch brought in Daniel before the king in haste, and said thus unto him, I have found a man of the captives of Judah, that will make known unto the king the interpretation." ... Then in all humility of mind he [Daniel] acknowledges that the wisdom is not in him, but in the God of heaven, and that the vision has been revealed to him for the sake of God's servants, and that the king might know the thoughts of his heart.-Letter 90, 1894. |

Commentary:
My friend, in the time of trial for Daniel he sought out the only One who could make known the kings matter. He went to the One true God that He may show him the dream of the king and make known to him its meaning. While in the courts of Babylon Daniel was surrounded by the worship of many false gods, but he remained firm in his belief in the One true God of his fathers.
God brought a test upon the magicians and soothsayers of Babylon that revealed the powerlessness of their gods and gave opportunity for Daniel to introduce to the king the Only true God. In humility Daniel and his three friends, prayed to the living God for wisdom and power in their hour of need. God honored Daniel with the dream and its interpretation, showing that there is only One true and living God.
In like manner the great trial of the last days will center upon who we worship. The Roman Catholic Church through its control of the Protestant power of the United States of America, will enforce a Sunday law that will compel the whole world to worship the beast and its image. The doctrine of the trinity which is the belief in a three in one god, is the central doctrine of the Catholic church and is the foundation of all of its doctrines. Therefore Sunday worship is the result of the worship of the false god of the trinity. The whole of the Christian world, including the Seventh-day Adventist church, has been lead to worship the god of the trinity and as such are preparing themselves to receive the mark of the beast in the last days. Seventh-day Adventists pride themselves in their defiance of Rome by worshiping on the true Sabbath on the 7th day of the week, and as such do not believe that they will ever receive the mark of the beast. But because they have been deceived into accepted the false god of the trinity in place of the One true God of the Bible; a god that the pioneers of the church did not worship, they will not be able to stand the trial of the last days when Sunday worship is enforced.
The condition of the church in the last days is revealed to us by Jesus, the Faithful and True Witness. The church has become rich and increased with goods, their spiritual condition is such that it is sickening to Him and He wants to vomit them from His mouth. He says "And knowest not that thou art wretches, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked." (Revelation 3:17). They are wretched and miserable because they have not gained the victory over sin, believing that God will save them in their sins. Their righteousness is not the righteousness of Christ, for they have accepted the righteousness of the false god of the trinity, and as such they do not have the righteousness of Christ.
My friend, the trinity gives the people of God a form of godliness, but it does not give them the power to overcome sin in their lives, and when the final test comes they will see too late that they are wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked. But this does not have to be your experience, for Jesus says "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:19, 20).
Won't you look away from the false god of the trinity and look unto the Only true God through His Son Jesus Christ (John 17:3) today?
God bless,
