Christ is With Us Always

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White

Christ is With Us Always
Today's Text:
While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal. 2 Corinthians 4:18
The Message:

For forty days and nights He [Christ] fasted in the wilderness of temptation, and there Satan came to Him with great power, hoping to overcome Him in His weakness. The temptations then brought upon Christ were in every way greater than those brought upon Adam, but the Redeemer did not swerve a hairsbreadth from His allegiance to God....

Although it may seem that you are alone, yet you are not alone, for Christ is with you; you are in blessed company. And you have the words sounding down along the line from the prophets and apostles to encourage you in steadfastness. Many of these holy people lost their lives because of their faithfulness to God. If you suffer for the truth's sake, remember that this is no more than others have done before you. What trials and afflictions Paul endured, and yet he says, "Our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory."...

When difficulties arise, as they will, remember that Jesus is by your side, a very present help in time of need. To meet trial bravely is part of the Christian warfare, and in this warfare all heaven is interested. Christ knows what temptations you will meet. He knows that when one accepts the truth he or she will have a cross to lift, and He is ready to give the needed help.

Let the light of truth shine forth in your life. Do you say, How shall I let it shine? If before you accepted the truth, you were impatient and fretful, let your life now show to those around you that the truth has had a sanctifying influence upon your heart and character, that instead of being fretful and impatient, you are now cheerful and uncomplaining. Thus you reveal Christ to the world....

At the moment when you are offering your prayer for help, you may not feel all the joy and blessing that you would like to feel; but if you believe that Christ will hear and answer your petition, the peace of Christ will come.-Manuscript 8, 1885.
Commentary:

My friend, in this life we will have tribulation, but we must be of good cheer for our Savior has overcome the world, and He has promised us saying "I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." (Matthew 28:20).  When we are brought into trying circumstances, He is with us to guide and to comfort us; to give us power and strength to resist the powers of darkness, that we may gain the victory over them.

How is it that Christ is with us?  It is through His Spirit that He is with us, for the Holy Spirit is the Spirit of Christ, He is the Comforter that He promised to send.  It is not the spirit of another, but Jesus Himself.  That is why He said that He would be with us always.

This precious and plain truth has been perverted by the doctrine of the trinity, for it teaches that the Holy Spirit is not the Spirit of Christ, but the spirit of another being.  The trinity teaches that the Holy Spirit is not the Father nor the Son, but is a being unto itself, and that this is the being that comforts and is with us always.  However, the Scriptures do not support this claim for it says in 1 Timothy 2:5 "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;".  Therefore, the Comforter and the Mediator that was promised to us is Jesus Christ Himself.

The Comforter that Jesus spoke of in John 14:16 is not another being, but Himself coming to us in another form, by His omnipresent Spirit.  This is made plain when you look at each of the references to the Comforter.  In John 14:26 Jesus declares that the Comforter is the Holy Ghost, and in John 14:18 He said "I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you."  He would come to them not in human form, but by His Spirit.  This is made plain by 1 John 2:1 where John uses the exact same Greek word that is translated Comforter but was translated as Advocate.  Notice "My little children, these things write I unto you, that ye sin not. And if any man sin, we have an advocate [Comforter] with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:"  Therefore the Comforter that He promised is clearly show to be Jesus Christ the righteous.

My friend, the trinity has robbed us of Jesus Christ as our Comforter and has replaced it with another being that cannot comfort us because it never was tempted in the flesh and cannot sympathize with our sufferings.  This comforter is a counterfeit and as such cannot save us.  Satan, by introducing this counterfeit comforter has disconnected us from the only being that can connect us with the Father and save us.  It is time that we look away from the false god of the trinity and to look unto the only true God through His Son Jesus Christ the righteous today.

God bless,

The Sin Against the Holy Spirit - Allen Stump
The Sin Against the Holy Spirit - Allen Stump

This message is about the sin against the Holy Spirit, the sin for which there is no forgiveness. Is this the ultimate state of emenity against God or can there also be a specific sin so great that it cuts away salvation forever?

The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended Today's Text: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4 The Message:      The wicked receive their recompense in the earth. [Proverbs 11:31] . They "shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts."  Malachi 4:1 . Some are destroyed as in a moment, while others suffer many days. All are punished "according to their deeds." The sins of the righteous having been transferred to Satan, he is made to suffer not only for his own rebellion, but for all the sins that he has caused God's people to commit...

The Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study Today's Text: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4 The Message:      There is need of a much closer study of the Word of God; especially should Daniel and the Revelation have attention as never before in the history of our work. We may have less to say in some lines, in regard to the Roman power and the papacy, but we should call attention to what the prophets and apostles have written under the inspiration of the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit has so shaped matters, both in the giving of the prophecy and in the events portrayed, as to teach that the human agent is to be kept out of sight, hid in Christ, and the Lord God of heaven ...

Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door Today's Text: But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:9 The Message:      The stress of great temptation is already upon us. We are now to unite with one another in doing medical missionary work, even the work that Christ did when on this earth. We are to be one in Christ. Thus we show our faithfulness to God, to our Redeemer, and to all who are born into His kingdom.  Among the people of God there is to be no dissension, no controversy, no warfare against one another. The forces of righteousness are to be a unit in their conflict with evil. All the strength of God's...
