The Lord Trusts Us to Sow Good Seed for a Good Harvest

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White

The Lord Trusts Us to Sow Good Seed for a Good Harvest
Today's Text:
The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field: But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way. Matthew 13:24, 25
The Message:

The Lord has a work to do in our world, but He will not trust His work in the hands of people who know nothing of the Bible or of the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven. The Lord presents in parables the rise and progress of the work that results from the preaching of His Word, the present truth for this time. He brings before us the fashioning of a church that shall stand before the world as chosen and faithful. The parable of the sower shows the manner in which we should work. The work of the gospel ministry is the sowing of the seed....

The parable of the wheat and the tares shows the mystery of the divine and the satanic agencies working in direct opposition, in vital conflict. The conflict continues till the close of this earth's history. The incorruptible seed is the living Word of God, which works in the personal sanctification of the receivers, elevating them by bringing them into the participation of the divine nature.

Many matters need to be considered. Those who have all their lifetime been the servants of sin, desiring to act in direct opposition to the divine will, need to be most thoroughly converted. Otherwise the leaven of evil will work under cover, as Satan appearing like an angel of light tempted Christ to oppose the divine will. God's great standard of righteousness is obnoxious to the tastes and appetites of sinful men and women. The active energy of the Saviour and that of the destroyer are in conflict.

The wheat is to be gathered for Christ's garner. The tares have the appearance of wheat, but when the harvest comes they must be rejected. Yet there is an imitation of the wheat through a long period of time. Satan puts forth a determined effort to deceive and lead into strange paths those who have any connection with the Word of God, and he will devise every possible scheme to lengthen the period of his control. The Lord God of heaven gives no sanction to mix and corrupt church associations. The Lord would have His work in the preaching of the gospel so done that there will be no encouragement to evil workers, no toleration of evil associations in Christian assemblies.-Manuscript 7, 1900.

Commentary:

My friend, it is not our place to convert the wayward to the worship of the One true God; our place is to cooperate with the Spirit of Christ and sow the seeds of truth, faithfully shedding light to those who are deceived.  It is the work of the Spirit of God to bring theses sown seeds to life and fruition.  In the same way we are to give the straight message of the Faithful and True Witness to the remnant church of God.  It is not our message, but is from above.

This message can only be given by those who have come out of the darkness of the trinity, and have been sanctified by the Word of God.  This message, though difficult to give, must be given.  The remnant of God must be given the opportunity to decide for themselves whom they will worship.  Therefore the message is pointed and cuts to the heart of the matter. "...and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" (Revelation 3:17).  He gives to all, light that they may see the error of their ways, and offers to them the opportunity to turn away from the darkness of error that they have been led into saying "... be zealous therefore, and repent." (Revelation 3:19).

There are today many in the church today that appear as wheat but are not.  They have an outward show of Christianity, but when the testing time comes, they will appear as they are, tares sown with the wheat, and will be bundled together with the wicked.  For many of these they do not recognize that they are tares, thinking that they are righteous when they are not.  But God gives to all His Word that they may examine their hearts and test whether they are of the faith.  The Scriptures say "Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?" (2 Corinthians 13:5).

To all in the remnant church of God, the opportunity to turn away from the false worship of the trinity is given, but once the truth is received in the heart; once conviction of the truth is brought to their hearts, they must make a decision to follow the truth, or to continue in error.  If the Spirit of God is resisted, it will leave them, never to return.

My friend, the close of probation will come to the remnant church of God before the last message of hope will be given to the world.  Those who resist the light of truth that comes from the Faithful and True Witness of God, will be left in darkness.  Jesus said "But if thine eye be evil, thy whole body shall be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in thee be darkness, how great is that darkness!" (Matthew 6:23).

May you accept the light of truth that is in the Word of God today.

God bless,

"The Godhead: Joels Journey - Why I Left the Anti-trinitarian Movement." In this episode of Prove All Things, I review Joel's aforementioned video and test some of his claims. Is there enough evidence to abandon the Father & Son message? What solid proofs are there for the Trinity? Can we accept the Spirit of God to be a different person to God? These questions and more are covered in this episode.

The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended Today's Text: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4 The Message:      The wicked receive their recompense in the earth. [Proverbs 11:31] . They "shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts."  Malachi 4:1 . Some are destroyed as in a moment, while others suffer many days. All are punished "according to their deeds." The Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study Today's Text: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4 The Message:      There is need of a much closer study of the Word of God; especially should Daniel and the Revelation have attention as never before in the history of our work. We may have less to say in some lines, in regard to the Roman power and the papacy, but we should call attention to what the prophets and apostles have written under the inspiration of the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit has so shaped matters, both in the giving of the prophecy and in the events portrayed, as to teach that the human agent is to be kept out of sight, hid in Christ, and the Lord God of heaven ...

Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door Today's Text: But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:9 The Message:      The stress of great temptation is already upon us. We are now to unite with one another in doing medical missionary work, even the work that Christ did when on this earth. We are to be one in Christ. Thus we show our faithfulness to God, to our Redeemer, and to all who are born into His kingdom.  Among the people of God there is to be no dissension, no controversy, no warfare against one another. The forces of righteousness are to be a unit in their conflict with evil. All the strength of God's...
