The Touch of Faith is Healing

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White

The Touch of Faith is Healing
Today's Text:
But Jesus turned him about, and when he saw her, he said, Daughter, be of good comfort; thy faith hath made thee whole. Matthew 9:22
The Message:

Satan is the destroyer; the Lord is the Restorer. The Lord has not worked as a physician in the way that He desires to work, because, He says, Ye will not come to Me, that I may give you life. We look to every source for relief except to the One who proclaimed over the rent sepulcher of Joseph, "I am the resurrection, and the life." ...

Christ met one poor soul who had spent all her living in order that she might be cured of a physical malady. The statement is that she had spent all that she had on many physicians, and was nothing better, but rather made worse. But one touch of Christ by faith took away the infirmity of long years. This suffering woman came behind Christ and touched His garment, [having] faith in the Person whom the garment covered, and instantly she was made whole. "Who touched me?" said Christ. Peter was astonished. He answered, "Thou seest the multitude thronging thee, and sayest thou, Who touched me?"

Christ desired to give a lesson that all present would never forget. He would show the difference between the touch of living faith and a casual touch. He said, "Somebody hath touched me: for I perceive that virtue is gone out of me." When the woman saw that she could not be hid, she came forward trembling, and throwing herself at His feet, told her pitiful story. Christ comforted her. "Daughter," He said, "thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague."

Why do we not come to Jesus in faith? Many give Him a casual touch, coming in contact only with His person. The woman did more than this. She put forth her hand in faith and was healed instantly.... The friends of the truth will honor Him who is the Author and Finisher of their faith. Christ will prove Himself a physician in restoring the body as well as the soul. The workers together with God will yoke up with Christ and place themselves, soul, body, and spirit, in right relation to God....

The will of men, women, and children must be trained by cooperation with God.... The melody of spiritual joy, and spiritual as well as physical health, will be revealed and will promote that blessedness that the Lord Jesus came to our world to impart to every individual who will believe.-Letter 106, 1898.

Commentary:

My friend, the healing that we need today is not just physical healing, but spiritual as well.  The heart is sick with sin and unless we come into contact with the Son of God we cannot be truly healed.  Today the condition of the church is such that it is sick with sin, but they know it not.  They have a form of godliness because they believe they are worshiping God, but in reality they are worshiping a false god, and as such their condition before God is sickening to Him.  The Faithful and True Witness tells them "I know thy works, that thou art neither cold nor hot: I would thou wert cold or hot. So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." (Revelation 3:15, 16).

The doctrine of the trinity gives the remnant people a false sense of righteousness, but does not give them victory over sin.  It is a false righteousness because Jesus tells them "...that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" (Revelation 3:17).  They are wretched and poor because they have not gained the victory over sin; They are poor in faith and blind to their true condition before God, and they are naked because they do not have the righteousness of Christ, for Jesus says in verse 18 that they should buy of Him white raiment that they may be clothed.

The Jews in the time of Christ had a false idea of the Messiah to come and therefore when He was amongst them, they did not recognize Him and eventually crucified Him.  The same is true today.  The remnant people of God have been deceived into believing that God is a triune god rather than the One true God of the Bible.  John clearly says in John 17:3 "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent."  The condition of the church today is a result of the churches adoption of the trinity.  Through this perversion of the image of God, Satan has taken hold of the Seventh-day Adventist church and has corrupted it by his influence.  That is why Jesus is depicted as being on the outside seeking to gain entrance saying "Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:20).  Jesus is on the outside because the church has rejected Him as their leader.

My friend, "How long halt ye between two opinions? if the LORD be God, follow him: but if Baal [trinity], then follow him. And the people answered him not a word." (1 Kings 18:21).  The time is come when we must all choose which side we are on.  Either you are on the side of the One true God and His Son Jesus Christ, or you are on the side of the false god of the trinity.  If you are on the side of the One true God of the Bible then you are called to stand up for the truth by giving the straight testimony of the Faithful and True Witness to the church and to the world.

Choose ye this day whom you will serve.

God bless,

Prove All Things - A Review by Nader Mansour

"The Godhead: Joels Journey - Why I Left the Anti-trinitarian Movement." In this episode of Prove All Things, I review Joel's aforementioned video and test some of his claims. Is there enough evidence to abandon the Father & Son message? What solid proofs are there for the Trinity? Can we accept the Spirit of God to be a different person to God? These questions and more are covered in this episode.

The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended Today's Text: And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed away. Revelation 21:4 The Message:      The wicked receive their recompense in the earth. [Proverbs 11:31] . They "shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the Lord of hosts."  Malachi 4:1 . Some are destroyed as in a moment, while others suffer many days. All are punished "according to their deeds." The Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study Today's Text: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4 The Message:      There is need of a much closer study of the Word of God; especially should Daniel and the Revelation have attention as never before in the history of our work. We may have less to say in some lines, in regard to the Roman power and the papacy, but we should call attention to what the prophets and apostles have written under the inspiration of the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit has so shaped matters, both in the giving of the prophecy and in the events portrayed, as to teach that the human agent is to be kept out of sight, hid in Christ, and the Lord God of heaven ...

Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door Today's Text: But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:9 The Message:      The stress of great temptation is already upon us. We are now to unite with one another in doing medical missionary work, even the work that Christ did when on this earth. We are to be one in Christ. Thus we show our faithfulness to God, to our Redeemer, and to all who are born into His kingdom.  Among the people of God there is to be no dissension, no controversy, no warfare against one another. The forces of righteousness are to be a unit in their conflict with evil. All the strength of God's...
