Today's Text:
Then came the day of unleavened bread, when the passover must be killed. And he sent Peter and John, saying, Go and prepare us the passover, that we may eat. Luke 22:7, 8

The Message:
Christ had chosen Peter and John, who were to be closely associated in labor, to prepare for the supper.... "And he said unto them, Behold, when ye are entered into the city, there shall a man meet you, bearing a pitcher of water; follow him into the house where he entereth in. And ye shall say unto the good man of the house, The Master saith unto thee, Where is the guest chamber, where I shall eat the passover with my disciples?"...
Christ desired to guard against any premature movements that might be made by traitors coming to the supper and reciprocating the action designed by Judas. It was customary for those living in the metropolis to accommodate strangers desirous of celebrating the Passover. The message took the form of a command. It might seem to us to be unbecoming for these two Galileans to speak thus to a stranger. But circumstances happened as Christ foretold. The disciples met a man carrying a pitcher. They followed him and entered the house that he entered and repeated their message, and it met a ready assent on the part of the master of the house.... It was the last Passover that Jesus would keep with His disciples. He knew that His hour was come; He Himself was the true Paschal Lamb, and on the day the Passover was eaten He was to be sacrificed. He knew that the circumstances connected with this occasion would never be forgotten by His disciples.
Christ's first words after they had gathered about the table were "With desire I have desired to eat this passover with you before I suffer: for I say unto you, I will not any more eat thereof, until it be fulfilled in the kingdom of God."...
On this last evening with His disciples, Jesus had much to tell them. If they had been prepared to receive what He longed to impart, they would have been saved from heartbreaking anguish, from disappointment and unbelief. But Jesus saw that they could not bear what He had to say. As He looked into their faces, the words of warning and comfort were stayed upon His lips. Moments passed in silence. Jesus appeared to be waiting. The disciples were ill at ease. The glances they cast at each other told of jealousy and contention.... The disciples clung to their favorite idea that Christ would assert His power and take His position on the throne of David. And in heart each still longed for the highest place in the kingdom.-Manuscript 106, 1903. |

Commentary:
My friend, Jesus, the Son of God, laid aside His heavenly robes and consented to become the true pascal lamb that would be slain for the salvation of the world. All those who accept this gift no longer fall under the condemnation of sin, but have passed from death unto life. Jesus said "Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." (John 5:24).
Just before Jesus was to lay down His life for the sins of the world, He gathered together His disciples that He may impart to them what was to come. But as He looked upon them, He could see that they were not prepared to receive His words. Though He had told them that He must be brought under the power of man to suffer and to die, they did not comprehend His meaning, for they still harbored the false belief that He would free them from the bondage of Rome, and setup an earthly kingdom. To this they desired to be first in the temporal kingdom that they believed would be setup.
The reason why the disciples of Christ were not prepared to enter into the blessing that Christ desired for them to have was because they had a wrong understanding of the Messiah's mission. Though they had the Scriptures, the leaders had so perverted and misapplied the prophecies, that they were looking for a Messiah that was not to come.
As in the days of Christ so too is it in the church today. The leaders of the Seventh-day Adventist church have, over the years, perverted and misapplied the Scriptures to supplant the worship of a false God in place of the One true God of the Bible. By the teachings of the trinity, the minds of the people have been set upon a false image of God that cannot save them. It has the outward appearance of God, but in reality is not.
The trinity is the central doctrine of the Roman Catholic Church and by it flows all of her doctrines. Though the church claims that the trinity that it worships is different from Rome's, it still has the basic characteristics of three gods in one. By the churches worship of God in the form of the trinity, it robs the people from a true connection to God, for the Scriptures says "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" (1 Timothy 2:5), while the trinity teaches that the Holy Spirit is a separate being from the Father and the Son, and it is by this being that we are connected with God. Jesus said "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6).
A terrible deception has been played upon the people of God. By the churches adoption of the trinity, it has supplanted the worship of the One true God with the worship of the Roman Catholic god of the trinity. By worshiping God in this manner, the people will not be prepared to receive the seal of God in the last days, but will receive the mark of the beast as surely as those who worship on Sunday, for it is the central doctrine of the beast power.
My friend, it is time to "Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth." (2 Timothy 2:15). It is time to place a thus sayeth the Lord ahead of a thus sayeth the church. Sadly the Seventh-day Adventist Church has sided with the fallen churches of Babylon, and has adopted the false god of the trinity in place of the One true God of the Bible. Our church pioneers believed in the One true God and His Son Jesus Christ, and was called by Jesus the Church of Philadelphia, a church without fault before God. Yet today, by the adoption of the trinity, the church has become the Church of Laodicea, a church whose spiritual condition is sickening to Him, and unless we are zealous in our repentance, we will be spewed out of His mouth.
May you pray for the eye salve of truth, that you eyes may be opened to the deadly deception that has been played upon us.
God bless,

Video of the Week
This message is presented by my father, retired Pastor Bill Taitague. It is an eye opening message on how Satan has eaten away the truths given to us by God through the church pioneers. This is part one of a four part series presented to members of a home church following the One true God in California.
