Today's Text:
And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves. Matthew 21:12.

The Message:
The temple courts were filled with cattle, sheep, oxen, and doves. Above the noise of the lowing of cattle, the bleating of the sheep, and the cooing of the doves could be heard the voice of the traffickers as they offered for sale the animals and birds, at the highest rates, to those who had come to the Passover to offer sacrifice. Jesus said, "It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves."
This act on the part of Christ was deeply significant, more significant than any of the beholders realized. When the priests and Pharisees had recovered from the terror that had taken possession of their guilty souls at the words of Christ, they returned to the temple. They were not converted or even humbled. They determined to challenge Christ as to His authority for expelling them from the temple courts. When they reached the temple they found that a wonderful work had been done during their absence. The sick and dying had been restored to health. They were astonished, but they would not yield their stubborn unbelief. They had already determined to put Christ to death, and Lazarus also, who had been raised from the dead. They knew that the people would still believe in Christ as long as there lived among them one who had been raised from the dead by His power. The evidence Christ had given was calculated to convince every sincere mind, but it was not evidence that these people wanted. It was the rejection and condemnation of Christ by the people for which they were seeking. Every additional evidence given only increased their aversion to Christ. To have Christ in the world performing His wonderful works, to have Him live before the people His life of goodness and self-denial and self-sacrifice, to have Him exercise for others the tender compassion that had long since departed from their lives, was the very thing they did not want. Christ was fulfilling the commission given Him of His Father. "The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me; because the Lord hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison for them that are bound; to proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord."-Manuscript 128, 1899. |

Commentary:
My friend, God has given ample evidence in the Scriptures for all to know who He is and how we are to worship Him, yet there are so many today that will not accept these plain truths. They would rather twist the Scriptures to support the man-made doctrine of the trinity. Those who present plain and simple texts that show that there is only One true God, and that the Son of God is literally the Son of God, are denounced as heretics, and are quickly censured and eventually disfellowed from the church.
The Scriptures are simple and clear saying "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him." (1 Corinthians 8:6). When Jesus prayed to His Father He said "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3). The Father declared of His Son saying "This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Mark 3:17), and yet the trinity denies that He is truly the Son of God, declaring that the Son is only a title that one of the members of the trinity has assumed for the redemption of man. Of this the Scriptures says "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." (1 John 2:22).
In the time of Christ leaders of the church had been led by Satan to look for a Messiah that was not to come, and when He did come they rejected and crucified Him. The same has happened today. The leaders of the church have been blinded by the sophistry of Satan and are looking unto an altogether different God than what is shown in the Scriptures. They are pointing the people to a triune god, one that is made up of three co-equal and co-eternal beings, rather than the One true God and His Son Jesus Christ. Their hearts have been hardened to this belief and they will not accept the numerous texts that reveal the truth. They are truly in the Laodicean condition and are in danger of being spewed out of the mouth of the Faithful and True Witness.
The Scribes and the Pharisees rejected the truths that Jesus taught, and rejected the enlightenment that He brought to the Scriptures. They placed their traditions ahead of the plain truths of Scripture. Today the leaders of our church are doing the exact same thing by placing the traditions of the church ahead of the plain truths of the Bible. The trinity is a false representation of God and as such darkens the mind so that the plain truths of the Bible do not have the necessary affect upon the people. The Laodicean condition is a direct result of the trinity, for it leads the people to a false experience of righteousness by faith. Says the Faithful and True Witness "thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" (Revelation 3:17). They are naked because they do not have the righteousness of Christ, but the righteousness of a false god.
My friend, how long will you hold to the false doctrine of the trinity? How long will you deny the Father and the Son? Will you not lay off the false righteousness of the trinity and take upon yourself the robe of Christ's righteousness before it is too late?
God bless,

Video of the Week
A threefold union coming together, what is the basis of this unity? The Trinity. We examine some of the recent calls for unity by leaders such as Pope Francis, Kenneth Copeland, Tony Palmer, Rick Warren and others and we examine how history is repeating itself and how all of this fits into the present truth concerning Bible prophecy and relates to the three angels messages of Revelation 14.
There is a worship issue coming to a head and we need to have an understanding as to all the details concerning these issues. (2 Pet 1:19) As well as how the final events of Bible prophecy are wrapping up and how we can help others see the light of how quickly these things are coming to pass.
