The Message:
God has a controversy with the inhabitants of this world. Satan has come to them disguised as an angel of light, and under his direction the majority of Christians bow at idolatrous shrines and worship an unknown god....
The human family broke the law of God and defied His will. This law reveals to the world the attributes of God's character, and not a jot or tittle of it could be changed to meet humankind in its fallen condition. But God gave men and women unmistakable evidence that He loved them, and that justice is the foundation of His throne and the evidence of His love. He carried out the penalty of transgression, but let it fall upon a Substitute, even His only begotten Son. God could not abolish His law to save the human race, for this would immortalize transgression and place the whole world under Satan's control. But He "so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life." In this wonderful gift is shown the depth of God's goodness. He so loved sinful people that He gave Himself in His Son, that they might have another opportunity, another trial, another chance to show their obedience. He so loved men and women that in order to save them He gave His Son to the world, and in that gift He gave all heaven! This was the only provision God could make. By this gift a way was provided for sinners to return to their loyalty. God is calling upon all to behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world. Christ lifts the guilt of sin from the sinner, standing Himself under the condemnation of the Lawgiver. He came to this world to live the law in humanity, that Satan's charge that human beings cannot keep the law of God might be demonstrated as false. He kept the law in humanity, and when He was accused falsely by the Pharisees, He turned to them, asking with a voice of authority and power, "Which of you convinceth me of sin?" He came to reveal to the heavenly universe, to the worlds unfallen, and to sinful people, that every provision had been made by God in behalf of humanity, and that through the imputed righteousness of Christ all who receive Him by faith can show their loyalty by keeping the law. As repenting sinners lay hold of Christ as their personal Saviour, they are made partakers of the divine nature.-Manuscript 63, 1897. |

Commentary:
My friend, the central theme of the gospel is that "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son" (John 3:16). In the gift of His Son, He gave all that could be given; He gave Himself in His Son. In order for God to give us the gift of His Son, He had to have a son to give. The doctrine of the trinity denies that Jesus is truly the Son of God, claiming that His sonship is only a metaphor or a title that He has assumed in order to redeem fallen humanity. In doing so the trinity destroys the whole of the gospel. The spirit of the trinity is the spirit of antichrist, for the apostle John says "Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: (but) he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also." (1 John 2:22, 23).
Today the whole of the Christian world is worshiping before a false god; a different god from the one that the Apostles worshiped, and a different god from the one that Jesus Himself worshiped. The god that the Christian churches are worshiping today is the trinity, and is an altogether different god then the God of the Bible. Jesus said "And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent." (John 17:3). And in answer to Satan's temptation of the Son of Man to worship him, He said "Get thee behind me, Satan: for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve." (Luke 4:8).
The trinity has the outward form of God, but in reality is not. It is a form of godliness but at its core denies the Father and the Son. As the world looks unto this counterfeit god, they are changed by beholding it and receive a false righteousness that cannot save them, for it is only by the life of the Son of God that they can be made righteous.
The last call of mercy to the world is found in the three angels message. The first message is a call back to worship the One true God. For Seventh-day Adventists this message has been corrupted by the trinity, changing the focus of the message from the One true God to the Sabbath. In doing so the emphasis is upon the day of worship rather than upon the God we are to worship. By this the people have been deceived into believing that their Sabbath keeping will enable them to receive the seal of God. But no amount of Sabbath keeping will sanctify us, for the Scriptures say "Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the LORD that sanctify them." (Ezekiel 20:12).
The Sabbath, while it is the seal of God, does not sanctify us; it is God that sanctifies us. By changing the focus of the first angels message to the Sabbath, it changes the whole message and the world will never be prepared to meet Jesus.
The trinity is a false image of God and destroys the three angels message and the whole of the gospel. It has come into our church and has supplanted the One true God, which our church pioneers worshiped, for the triune god of the trinity. The church of Philadelphia has truly become the church of Laodicea, and the message of the Faithful and True Witness of God is "... and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" (Revelation 3:17). The Spirit of God is no longer heeded by the leadership of the church today, and because of this Jesus is depicted as on the outside seeking to gain entrance (Revelation 3:20), because the people are worshiping before a strange god.
My friend, the time is come for us to look away from the false god of the trinity, and look unto the One true God through Jesus Christ today. May this be your prayer today.
God bless,
