The Angel of Revelation 10 Proclaims God's Last Message

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White

The Angel of Revelation 10 Proclaims God's Last Message
Today's Text:
And he set his right foot upon the sea, and his left foot on the earth. Revelation 10:2
The Message:

The message of Revelation 14, proclaiming that the hour of God's judgment is come, is given in the time of the end. The angel of Revelation 10 is represented as having one foot on the sea and one foot on the land, showing that the message will be carried to distant lands, the ocean will be crossed, and the islands of the sea will hear the proclamation of the last message of warning to our world.

[Revelation 10:5, 6 quoted] "That there should be time no longer." This message announces the end of the prophetic periods. The disappointment of those who expected to see our Lord in 1844 was indeed bitter to those who had so ardently looked for His appearing. It was in the Lord's order that this disappointment should come, and that hearts should be revealed.

Not one cloud has fallen upon the church that God has not prepared for; not one opposing force has risen to counterwork the work of God that He has not foreseen. All has taken place as He has predicted through His prophets. He has not left His church forsaken in darkness, but has traced in prophetic declarations what would occur, and through His providence, acting in its appointed place in the world's history, He has brought about that which His Holy Spirit inspired the prophets to foretell. All His purposes will be fulfilled and established. His law is linked with His throne, and satanic agencies combined with human agencies cannot destroy it.

Truth is inspired and guarded by God; it will live, and will succeed, although it may appear at times to be overshadowed. The gospel of Christ is the law exemplified in character. The deceptions practiced against it, every device for vindicating falsehood, every error forged by satanic agencies, will eventually be eternally broken, and the triumph of truth will be like the appearing of the sun at noonday. The Sun of Righteousness shall shine forth with healing in His wings, and the whole earth shall be filled with His glory.

All that God has in prophetic history specified to be fulfilled in the past has been, and all that is yet to come in its order will be. Daniel, God's prophet, stands in his place. John stands in his place. In the Revelation the Lion of the tribe of Judah has opened to the students of prophecy the book of Daniel, and thus is Daniel standing in his place. He bears his testimony, that which the Lord revealed to him in vision, of the great and solemn events that we must know as we stand on the very threshold of their fulfillment.-Manuscript 32, 1896 (Manuscript Releases 17:9-11).

*Note: I have added in the parts that were left out by the compilers for what ever reason, that the true sentiment of the author may be seen.
Commentary:

My friend, the great disappointment that happened in 1844 revealed the true hearts of those who professed to be looking forward to the second coming of Christ.  Many had come into the movement that were not sound in their belief, but had merely come in to escape the wrath of God to come.  These, when Christ did not come, turned from their professed belief, and mocked and ridiculed their former brethren.  Those who were sincere in their love for God, searched the Scriptures that they may see their mistake.  To these God opened their eyes to the truth, that the cleansing of the sanctuary was not to happen on the earth, but in heaven.  With joy and gladness, they accepted the revelation of God and move on to form the Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Those in the advent movement that remained after the great disappointment were led to the oracles of truth that had once been given to the apostles, but had been lost during the time of apostacy.  Through their disappointment they searched the Scriptures as never before and God opened to them the truth about the Sabbath, the state of the dead, the sanctuary message, Christ, His mission, and His priesthood.  In this movement was the protestant reformation complete, and through this movement the everlasting gospel was to go to the whole world.

Today the mission and purpose of the advent movement has not changed, but the church that is to proclaim the three angels message to the world has been corrupted.  The beginning of the movement was depicted as the Church of Philadelphia, a church whos spiritual condition was without condemnation.  But since the prophet of God and the church pioneers were laid to rest, it is now become the Church of Laodicea, a church whos spiritual condition is sickening to Him saying "So then because thou art lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spue thee out of my mouth." (Revelation 3:16).

The church is in this condition because it has forsaken the One true God and His Son Jesus Christ for the false god of the trinity.  By seeking after the acceptance of the  fallen churches of Babylon, the leadership of the church has been corrupted by the wine of Babylon and has wondered after the beast.  By the churches acceptance of the trinity it has put itself in a better light with the rest of the Protestant world, but has forsaken the One true God.  As such Jesus says "...thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" (Revelation 3:17).

They are in this condition because they have forsaken the One true God.  Through the trinity they have a false experience of righteousness by faith.  To the church He says "I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see." (Revelation 3:18).  They think that they have the righteousness of Christ, but they do not.  They are blind to their true condition before God because of the trinity.

In mercy He gives to them a straight message that they may awaken to their terrible condition saying "As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten: be zealous therefore, and repent. Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me." (Revelation 3:19, 20).  Jesus is standing on the outside of the hearts of His people, because He has been supplanted by the trinity.

My friend, the last message of hope that is to be given to the world is to be given by the remnant people, but unless the people see their true condition before God and are zealous in their repentance, they will not be fit to proclaim the true three angels message to the world, for they must be filled with the Spirit of Christ that the message may go to the world with the power of God.

May you look away from the false god of the trinity unto the One true God through His Son Jesus Christ today.

God bless,

God is not a Trinity. Understanding the truth about God's identity and character are critical to having a true understanding of the gospel.

The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. The Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study Today's Text: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4 The Message:      There is need of a much closer study of the Word of God; especially should Daniel and the Revelation have attention as never before in the history of our work. We may have less to say in some lines, in regard to the Roman power and the papacy, but we should call attention to what the prophets and apostles have written under the inspiration of the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit has so shaped matters, both in the giving of the prophecy and in the events portrayed, as to teach that the human agent is to be kept out of sight, hid in Christ, and the Lord God of heaven ...

Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. Hebrews 2:9 The Message:      The stress of great temptation is already upon us. The forces of righteousness are to be a unit in their conflict with evil. All the strength of God's...
