"Time No Longer"

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White

"Time No Longer"
Today's Text:
And the angel which I saw stand upon the sea and upon the earth lifted up his hand to heaven, And sware by him that liveth for ever and ever, who created heaven, and the things that therein are, and the earth, and the things that therein are, and the sea, and the things which are therein, that there should be time no longer: Revelation 10:5, 6
The Message:

The mighty Angel who instructed John was no less a personage than Jesus Christ. Setting His right foot on the sea, and His left upon the dry land, shows the part that He is acting in the closing scenes of the great controversy with Satan. This position denotes His supreme power and authority over the whole earth. The controversy has waxed stronger and more determined from age to age, and will continue to do so to the concluding scenes when the masterly working of the powers of darkness shall reach their height. Satan, united with evil men, will deceive the whole world and the churches who receive not the love of the truth. But the mighty Angel demands attention. He cries with a loud voice. He is to show the power and authority of His voice to those who have united with Satan to oppose the truth.

After these seven thunders uttered their voices, the instruction comes to John, as to Daniel, in regard to the little book: "Seal up those things which the seven thunders uttered." These relate to future events which will be disclosed in their order. Daniel shall stand in his lot at the end of the days. John sees the little book unsealed. Then Daniel's prophecies have their proper place in the first, second, and third angels' messages to be given to the world. The unsealing of the little book was the message in relation to time.

The books of Daniel and the Revelation are one. One is a prophecy, the other a revelation; one a book sealed, the other a book opened. John heard the mysteries which the thunders uttered, but he was commanded not to write them. The special light given to John, which was expressed in the seven thunders, was a delineation of events that would transpire under the first and second angels' messages. It was not best for the people to know these things, for their faith must necessarily be tested. In the order of God, most wonderful and advanced truths would be proclaimed.  The first and second angels' messages were to be proclaimed, but no further light was to be revealed before these messages had done their specific work. This is represented by the Angel standing with one foot on the sea, proclaiming with a most solemn oath that time should be no longer.

This time, which the Angel declares with a solemn oath, is not the end of this world's history, neither of probationary time, but of prophetic time, which would precede the advent of our Lord. That is, the people will not have another message upon definite time. After this period of time, reaching from 1842 to 1844, there can be no definite tracing of the prophetic time. The longest reckoning reaches to the autumn of 1844.

The Angel's position, with one foot on the sea, the other on the land, signifies the wide extent of the proclamation of the message. It will cross the broad waters and be proclaimed in other countries, even to all the world. The comprehension of truth, the glad reception of the message, is represented in the eating of the little book. The truth in regard to the time of the advent of our Lord was a precious message to our souls.

The greatest work to be done in this life is to make preparation for the future life, for that life which measures with the life of God. A probation has been granted us that, notwithstanding the difficulties, we may cultivate virtues which shall carry us into the higher life. Pure love for one another is exercised by those who are partakers of the divine nature.-Manuscript 59, 1900 (Manuscript Releases 19:319-321).
*Note: I have added in the parts that were left out by the compilers for what ever reason, that the true sentiment of the author may be seen.  These parts are underlined.
Commentary:

My friend, though we do not have any more time prophecies that bring us to the second coming of Jesus, we do have signs and messages that tell us that His coming is near, even at the door.  Now is the time for us to prepare our hearts to receive the divine nature of Christ, that we may be prepared to meet Him in the clouds of glory.

The reason why there are no more time prophecies pointing to the second coming of Christ or the close of probation is that it would hinder the world that God desires to have in the world.  Our work is to get ready, and our preparation is found in the first angels message.  We are to "Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters." (Revelation 14:7).

To fear God we must first know who God is.  The whole of the Christian world worships God as a trinity, but the message brings us back to the One true God for it says that we are to worship the Creator of heaven and earth.  The true Creator of all things is not Jesus, but the Father.  Notice   1 Corinthians 8:6 "But to us there is but one God, the Father, of whom are all things, and we in him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we by him."  It is saying that the One true God "of whom are all things" created all things by Jesus.  Ephesians 3:9 also says "And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:"

So to fear God we must worship the Father, and we do this through His Son.  "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;" (1 Timothy 2:5).  When we do this our whole relationship with God will be change.  As we worship God in this way, our lives will be transformed.  The work of Jesus was not just to die for our sins, but to impart to us His divine human life that we may have the righteousness of God within us.  "A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh." (Ezekiel 36:26).

When we worship the Father through His Son, partaking of the divine nature of Christ, our whole natures are changed.  No longer will sin have dominion over us, but the Spirit which lives within us lives.  Then as Christ lives within us the works that we do will not be our own works, but His works manifested in us.  This is the work that must happen to the remnant people that they may be prepared to receive the Spirit of Christ and give the three angels message to the world.

My friend, we cannot experience the new birth while worshiping the trinity, for it is a false god and is the spirit of antichrist, for it denies the Father and the Son.  The first angels message is not to call the world back to worship God on the true Sabbath, but is to call the world back to worship the One true God through Jesus Christ.  When this message is give under the latter rain power, it will have an affect that will prepare the world to meet their Savior, and that time is just before us.

May you prepare to be filled with the Spirit of Christ by turning away from the false worship of the trinity unto the One true God through His Son Jesus Christ today.

God bless,

The Controversy Between Christ and Satan is Ended

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. The Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Book of Daniel Now Unsealed for Study Today's Text: But thou, O Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run to and fro, and knowledge shall be increased. Daniel 12:4 The Message:      There is need of a much closer study of the Word of God; especially should Daniel and the Revelation have attention as never before in the history of our work. We may have less to say in some lines, in regard to the Roman power and the papacy, but we should call attention to what the prophets and apostles have written under the inspiration of the Spirit of God.  The Holy Spirit has so shaped matters, both in the giving of the prophecy and in the events portrayed, as to teach that the human agent is to be kept out of sight, hid in Christ, and the Lord God of heaven ...

Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White Christ is Knocking at Your Hearts Door Today's Text: But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man. Hebrews 2:9 The Message:      The stress of great temptation is already upon us. We are now to unite with one another in doing medical missionary work, even the work that Christ did when on this earth. We are to be one in Christ. Thus we show our faithfulness to God, to our Redeemer, and to all who are born into His kingdom.  Among the people of God there is to be no dissension, no controversy, no warfare against one another. The forces of righteousness are to be a unit in their conflict with evil. All the strength of God's...
