Angles to Answer Prayers of Unselfish Workers

Christ Triumphant - A Devotional by E.G. White

Angles to Answer Prayers of Unselfish Workers
Today's Text:
The way of the just is uprightness: thou, most upright, dost weigh the path of the just. Isaiah 26:7
The Message:

We have before us in the Word of God instances of heavenly agencies working on the minds of kings and rulers, while at the same time satanic agencies were also at work on their minds. No human eloquence, in strongly set forth human opinions, can change the working of satanic agencies. Satan seeks continually to block the way, so that the truth shall be bound about by human devising, and those who have light and knowledge are in the greatest danger unless they constantly consecrate themselves to God, humiliating self, and realizing the peril of the times.

Heavenly beings are appointed to answer the prayers of those who are working unselfishly for the interests of the cause of God. The very highest angels in the heavenly courts are appointed to work out the prayers that ascend to God for the advancement of the cause of God. Each angel has a particular post of duty, and is not permitted to leave for any other place. If an angel should leave, the powers of darkness would gain an advantage.

In the record of Daniel's experience we read, "Behold one like the similitude of the sons of men touched my lips, then I opened my mouth, and spake, and said unto him that stood before me, O my lord, by the vision my sorrows are turned upon me, and I have retained no strength. For how can the servant of this my lord talk with this my lord? For as for me, straightway there remained no strength in me, neither is there breath left in me.

"Then there came again and touched me one like the appearance of a man, and he strengthened me, and said, O man greatly beloved, fear not: peace be unto thee, be strong, yea, be strong. And when he had spoken unto me, I was strengthened, and said, Let my lord speak, for thou hast strengthened me. Then said he, Knowest thou wherefore I come unto thee? And now will I return to fight with the Prince of Persia: and when I am gone forth, lo, the prince of Grecia shall come. But I will show thee that which is noted in the Scriptures of truth: and there is none that holdeth with me in these things, but Michael your prince." [Daniel 10:16-21.]

Day by day the conflict between good and evil is going on. Why is it that those who have had many opportunities and advantages do not realize the intensity of this work? They should be intelligent in regard to this. God is the Ruler. By His supreme power He holds in check and control earthly potentates. Through His agencies He does the work which was ordained before the foundation of the world.

As a people we do not understand as we should the great conflict going on between invisible agencies, the controversy between loyal and disloyal angels. Evil angels are constantly at work, planning their line of attack, controlling as commanders, kings, and rulers, the disloyal human forces.

I call upon you who are not ready for the last great controversy to wake up. You are not watching for that which is soon coming upon the earth. Human instrumentalities under the control of fallen angels are seeking to gather in their harvest. Those who would find themselves under the protection of the angels of God must live wholly for God's glory, prepared to stand in their lot and in their place. They are to be faithful and true, even as Daniel was, a man called by the Lord, "greatly beloved," a man who felt the need of praying and confessing his sins. Those who do as Daniel did are not asleep, but are keenly alive to their exposure to the enemy's malignant devices. They see that their only safety is in keeping the commandments of God. They pray as Daniel prayed, confessing their sins and finding pardon.

Over every person good and evil angels strive. It is the person himself who determines which shall win. I call upon the ministers of Christ to press home upon the understanding of all who come within the reach of their voice the truth of the ministration of angels. Do not indulge in fanciful speculations. The written Word is our only safety. We must pray as did Daniel, that we may be guarded by heavenly intelligences. As ministering spirits, angels are sent forth to minister to those who shall be heirs of salvation. Pray my brethren pray as you have never prayed before. We are not prepared for the Lord's coming. We need to make thorough work for eternity.-Letter 201, 1899.

Commentary:

My friend, angels of God are sent to protect and empower us to do the will of God, that the work may be complete.  Jesus, when He was on this earth said "My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." (John 4:34).  If we are followers of Christ our meat is to do the will of God and to finish the work that God has given to us.

Many in the church today do not know the work that God has given to us.  Many are comfortable in the church and do little to advance the cause of truth.  They share a little here and there, but the main course of their life is to take care of themselves.

In these last days the meat of the church is to bring the last message of hope to a dark and dying world.  The three angels message is that message that is to go to the world.  Yet it is the one message that the church by and in large is not giving.  The church, seeking to gain favor with the world, has watered down the message and changed its focus that it may not offend the world, and as such has made it of no effect.

But God will have a people that will proclaim this message to the world.  The first angels message, seen in its true light, will prepare a people to give the message to the world.  It is a call back to worship the One true God through His Son Jesus Christ.  Once filled with the Spirit of Christ, the message will go to the world with the power of God and many, many will heed the messages in their order.

The small group of people filled with the Spirit of Christ will first give the message of the Faithful and True Witness to the church in the Laodicean condition.  This will cause a shaking within the church and many will accept the message of rebuke and forsake the trinity for the One true God, while the majority will resist the message and work against it.  The probation for the church closes.  Those who have accepted the message of rebuke and repent are sealed with the seal of God, prepared to give the last message of hope to the world.

My friend, the close of probation for the church happens a short while before the close of probation for the world.  The shaking that is to separate the wheat from the tares has already begun.  The message of the Faithful and True Witness lays bear the true condition of the church declaring that it is  "wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked:" (Revelation 3:17) because of their worship of the trinity, and unless they accept this last message of warning to them, the Spirit of Christ will leave them, never to return.

May you accept the message of rebuke given to you in love today.

God bless,
FOOD FOR THOUGHT:

The Trinity is the foundational teaching of the Roman Catholic Church, by it comes all of her doctrines, to include Sunday sacredness.  While the Seventh-Day Adventist Church states that their trinity is different from the Catholic trinity, why does the Catholic Trinity look the same as the Seventh-day Adventist trinity?

Does God Change? - Pastor Allen Stump
Does God Change? The question seems simple enough to answer when God says in Malachi 3:6, "I change not." However many people believe that God does change when it comes to the way he views the professed remnant. This message sustains God's position that he does not change!
